Accelerated Graphics Port
From TPU Reference
Accelerated Graphics Port (AGP) is a motherboard expansion slot designed specifically for graphics cards. AGP was developed as a replacement to the PCI bus because graphics cards had began to reach its limits. The AGP slot first appeared on socket 7 and slot 1 based motherboards.[edit]
AGP Versions
AGP 1x
- Operates at 66 MHz
- Maximum theoretical bandwidth of 266Mb/s
- 3.3V signaling
AGP 2x
- Operates at 66 MHz double pumped to an effective 133 MHz
- Maximum theoretical bandwidth of 533Mb/s
- 3.3V signaling
AGP 4x
- Operates at 66 MHz quad pumped to an effective 266 MHz
- Maximum theoretical bandwidth of 1066Mb/s
- 1.5V signaling
AGP 8x
- Operates an effective 533 MHz
- Maximum theoretical bandwidth of 2133Mb/s
- 0.8V signaling
