Accelerated Graphics Port (AGP) is a motherboard expansion slot designed specifically for graphics cards. AGP was developed as a replacement to the PCI bus because graphics cards had began to reach its limits. The AGP slot first appeared on socket 7 and slot 1 based motherboards.

AGP 1x

  • Operates at 66 MHz
  • Maximum theoretical bandwidth of 266Mb/s
  • 3.3V signaling

AGP 2x

  • Operates at 66 MHz double pumped to an effective 133 MHz
  • Maximum theoretical bandwidth of 533Mb/s
  • 3.3V signaling

AGP 4x

  • Operates at 66 MHz quad pumped to an effective 266 MHz
  • Maximum theoretical bandwidth of 1066Mb/s
  • 1.5V signaling

AGP 8x

  • Operates an effective 533 MHz
  • Maximum theoretical bandwidth of 2133Mb/s
  • 0.8V signaling
