Core 2 Duo
From TPU Reference
Intel's latest desktop CPU series, replacing the Pentium D. Presently, there are two cores: Conroe and Allendale. The key differences involve FSB speed, cache size, and the multiplier.
Many people mistakenly label the current E6300 and E6400 Core 2 Duo processors as Allendale cores. However, they are actually Conroe cores since they physically have 4 MB of cache, but 2 MB has been disabled. The Allendale processors are expected to be released in Q107. They will the E4x00 series, will have an 800 MHz FSB, instead of the 1066 MHz of Conroe based Core 2 Duos. They will also physically only have 2 MB of L2 cache.
